The Brief.

Hudson Blinds & Shutters is local, family run business full of ambition to develop on multiple fronts including B2B through Hudson Blinds, a new product range with Hudson Shutters and direct sales through their B2C website Ebay was a big channel for them but one that they were keen to reduce the reliance on by driving more direct sales through their own websites. When we met towards the end of 2017 they had recently expanded into a much larger factory and office space. This had allowed them to increase their manufacturing, fitting and customer service teams and they were ready to invest in their online growth. 


  • Tackle the low hanging fruit around UX and analytics
  • Put together a strategy to introduce additional, cost effective traffic and sales through PPC, SEO improvements and email marketing
  • Work with the internal developer to put together a mid term development plan
  • Identify additional opportunities for business efficiency 

How We Did It.



We got stuck in. The first thing to do before spending any money was to ensure the website itself was as good as it could be – we always like to get the shop organised first before we get more people to walk through the doors.


Using Hotjar and reviewing Google Analytics gave us a real insight into the user behaviour on their website


Balancing the desire for a quick return with a longer term view on the wider business growth potential.


Implementing a PPC campaign ensuring we were tracking orders via telephone as well as online.


PPC was followed by an expansion into Google Shopping and kicking off an email marketing programme.
